Recordflow PV Support

Recordflow PV is a local-first utility for monitoring and controlling compatible GivEnergy inverter and battery systems from iOS, macOS and Android devices. This page gives App Store users a clear place to get help, check setup guidance and contact Recordflow Ltd.

Local-first control

The app connects to compatible hardware over your local network so day-to-day inverter readings and control actions do not depend on a Recordflow cloud service.

Flexible connection paths

Recordflow PV supports direct Modbus connectivity where available, plus local GivTCP setups for users who already run GivTCP on their home network.

Privacy-led design

There are no user accounts, advertising identifiers or marketing trackers. Optional Diagnostic Mode is used to help improve device compatibility.

Getting Started

  • Make sure your phone, tablet or computer is connected to the same local network as your inverter or GivTCP instance.
  • Use network discovery first. If discovery does not find the device, enter the inverter or GivTCP IP address manually.
  • Check that your inverter, dongle firmware and local network allow Modbus TCP or GivTCP access before retrying a failed connection.

Troubleshooting

  • Device not found: confirm you are on the same Wi-Fi network, disable VPNs temporarily, and try manual IP entry.
  • Readings not updating: check the inverter or GivTCP service is reachable on the local network, then reconnect in the app.
  • Control action failed: submit the error using "Send feedback or report a bug" from the Settings screen. If you are experiencing an extended period of errors, enable Diagnostic Mode and email support@recordflow.co.uk with a short description of what is happening so we can take it from there.
  • Purchase issue: use the platform's restore purchase option first, then contact us if paid features remain unavailable.

For faster diagnosis, please include your app version, platform, connection mode, inverter model, a brief description of the issue and any screenshots that show the problem.

We aim to respond to support enquiries within 5 working days.

Data and Privacy

Recordflow PV is built so inverter readings, battery status and connection settings stay on your device in normal use. Recordflow Ltd does not operate a cloud database that receives your energy readings.

Diagnostic Mode can upload technical logs when enabled so we can improve compatibility with more GivEnergy devices. You can turn it off in the app's advanced settings.
